2019 Festival “Navajo Math Circles” and Other MSRI Films

Join MSRI host Dr. Hélène Barcelo as she introduces three film trailers for recent MSRI public math films for public television: “Navajo Math Circles (opens new window),” tracing the afterschool and summer activities of youth on the reservation, a biopic-in-production on Maryam Mirzakhani (opens new window), the first woman to win the math equivalent of the Nobel Prize, and “Counting from Infinity (opens new window),” about a Chinese mathematician whose work on the twin primes conjecture offers rare insights into the solitary and collaborative creative process in mathematics.
