Washington, DC Event: Public Briefing on Math Literacy, July 18, 2019

Washington, DC: The National Alliance WE THE PEOPLE – MATH LITERACY FOR ALL (opens new window) is planning a Public Briefing on “Mathematics Literacy in the Age of the Knowledge Economy” on Capitol Hill on Thursday morning, July 18, 2019. The purpose of the Briefing is to call attention to the very large number of young people who lose the thread in their mathematical development early in the going, often because of who they are or where they live or other life circumstances over which they have little or no control.

The Briefing represents an initial public call to Congress and the Nation’s mathematical and educational leadership for the Direct Federal Investment and Involvement needed to supply the resources, innovation and energy necessary to open the door to participation in the 21st century economy to our Nation’s most vulnerable young.
